Willie Nelson’s 1st Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament
Willie Nelson to host June 30th celebrity golf tournament, at his Pedernales Cut N Putt Golf Club, benefiting four community charities.
Briarcliff, Texas | June 5, 2012 – Break out the golf bag and checkbook, as Texas’ own Willie Nelson hosts his first annual Willie Nelson Celebrity Golf Tournament on Saturday June 30th. The charity event will benefit the Pedernales Fire Department, the Helping Hands Crisis Ministry, the Children’s Music Foundation and the RunTex Foundation. The event produced in cooperation with The RunTex Foundation will include food and fun throughout the day for both golfers and golf enthusiasts.
The event will kick off with a round of speed golf teeing off at 10 a.m. followed by two different shotgun Willie 9-hole scramble rounds, the first to tee off at 12:30 p.m. and the second at 3 p.m. Each team of scramblers will be made up of 6 golfers rather than the traditional four, highlighting the course’s unique quirkiness. The event will also feature a luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m. and a dinner from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. sponsored by the Texas Roadhouse.
Entertainment will include live music from Songwriter of the Year by BMI Sonny Throckmorton plus many more special guests. A silent auction will begin at 11:30 a.m. and continue throughout the day. The Auction will include Willie Nelson Memorabilia as well as many other priceless items and experiences. The event will be capped off with exclusive “Night Life Golf” where benefactors will shoot glow in the dark balls for chances to win other surprise gifts.
$250 per golfer for 9-hole scrambles
$200 a pair for speed golfers
$100 donation for non-golfers
The tournament and included festivities will give attendees an outstanding opportunity to give back to the Central Texas area, donate to a few great causes, have a fun-filled day of hitting the links, cutting the rug and enjoying time with friends and family. Everyone is urged to bring can goods and non-perishable food items for the Helping Hands Crisis Ministry’s food bank.
